Set of Shakespeare - from the Pilgrim Theatre

heritage

Something to remind me of my many years of speech lessons with my grandmother in her Pilgrim Theatre. Its atmosphere of formality, of endless books, scripts, wicker baskets of old costumes and hanging racks of current costumes, of a stage permanently set as the 'drawing room' with huge tapestries hanging above the procenium and the tantalising 'sound and lighting booth' backstage.

The sea of past student faces beaming down as you mounted the stairs to the Studio (with its musty smell).
